The Birds is a 1963 suspense/horror film directed by Alfred Hitchcock, loosely based on the 1952 story “The Birds” by Daphne du Maurier. It depicts Bodega Bay, California, which is, suddenly and for unexplained reasons, the subject of a series of widespread and violent bird attacks over the course of a few days.

So we were out and about running errands in the area and I knew I was short a picture for the 12th so we decided to take one of the back passes over into the Elimsport area since we had a stop over there.   What we found was something right out of Alfred’s movie.  Surrounding one of the small hills in the middle of the valley were literally thousands of black birds.  However unlike the original movie these birds were very skittish.  My very presence on the road near the field in which they were hanging out upset them to the point that every step I took caused most of the flock to move away from me in one direction or another.   It truly was something right out of a Nat Geo edition…
